ecarf-siegelDas ECARF Qualitätssiegel ist ein Gütesiegel der 2003 gegründeten gemeinnützigen Stiftung "European Centre for Allergy Research Foundation" (ECARF), welches dem Verbraucher die Auswahl allergikerfreundlicher Produkte und Dienstleistungen erleichtern soll.

Je nach Art der Produkte oder Dienstleistungen hat die Stiftung verschiedene Kriterienkataloge, die auf den neuesten Erkenntnissen der allergologischen Forschung basieren und regelmäßig aktualisiert werden. Diese Kriterienkataloge werden von einem unabhängigen Beirat aus 15 international führenden Wissenschaftlern und Technikern erstellt.

Das Siegel hat eine Gültigkeit von zwei Jahren und kann lizenzgebührenfrei genutzt werden. Die Gültigkeit kann zudem verlängert werden, wenn in der Zwischenzeit weder das Produkt oder die Dienstleistung noch die jeweiligen Vergabekriterien verändert wurden. Zudem muss das Produkt bzw. die Dienstleistung zwischenzeitliche Stichproben bestehen. Die erste Siegelvergabe erfolgte 2006, seitdem wurden tausende Produkte von mit dem ECARF Qualitätssiegel ausgezeichnet.
